Congressman Brad Schneider (D-IL) Thurs 11/16 7:00 PM

Allen & Rahcel Friedman will be chairing an event for Congressman Brad Schneider (D-IL) at the home of Phil & Rochelle Goldschmiedt in Teaneck on Thursday evening, November 16th.

Congressman Brad Schneider is currently serving his second term representing the 10th Congressional District of Illinois.

Congressman Schneider came to Congress as a life-long friend of Israel, having first visited Israel in 1983 and returning more than 18 times, most recently with a delegation of his congressional colleagues this August. Being a member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs provides Congressman Schneider the status and opportunity to consistently advocate for a strong US-Israel partnership in Washington, fulfilling his commitment to be a leading voice towards ensuring that critical relationship remains strong, steadfast and secure.

The Congressman has used his unique perspective and experience in his first terms in Congress to consistently take key leadership roles on major initiatives strengthening the bonds and strategic cooperation between the US and Israel.  In particular, he has been outspoken with respect to permanently preventing Iran from ever getting a nuclear weapon.

In 2013, the House unanimously passed the Congressman’s bill, the Israel Qualitative Enhancement Act, which helps ensure Israel is equipped to defend herself against growing, diverse threats. President Obama signed into law the Hezbollah International Financing Prevention Act, legislation Congressman Schneider introduced in 2014. In the current Congress, the Congressman has introduced key legislation including the Defending Israel’s QME Act of 2017, the US-Israel Anti-Tunnel Defense Cooperation Act, and most recently a bill calling for a strategic assessment of Iran’s support of Hizbollah and other proxy groups on Israel’s border (the NIE on Iranian Proxy Forces Act).  Congressman Schneider is committed to continuing his strong advocacy for the US – Israel relationship to ensure that Congress remains actively and constructively engaged in preserving this critical strategic relationship.

Prior to being elected to Congress, Congressman Schneider spent more than 20 years in business and management consulting. He earned a BS in industrial engineering and his MBA from Northwestern University.

The Congressman and his wife, Julie, have been residents of Deerfield for more than 25 years, where they created a home, built their careers and raised two sons.

Please join us in support of Congressman Schneider, and share your concerns about the US-Israel relationship with him at this event. If you are interested in supporting this event, please contact Avi Schranz at Avi@norpac.net
