NORPAC Manhattan: Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) for President 4/18

NORPAC welcomes back Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) to an event in Manhattan sponsored by our Long Island chapter on Monday, April 18th.

Ted has been an outspoken advocate of the US-Israel relationship as a Senator, and has made it clear that his continuing efforts to strengthen that relationship is a personal priority for him, and should be a priority for any candidate for President.

During a trip last year to Israel, Cruz stated, “The principal impediment to peace is that, to date, the Palestinians have refused to recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state and have refused to renounce terror.” The Senator continued, “Unless and until the Palestinians can agree on those very basic starting blocks, no lasting peace solution is likely.”

Please join us in support of Senator Cruz for President and share your concerns about the US-Israel relationship with him at this pro-Israel event. Contact Avi Schranz at avi@norpac.net for more information.

NORPAC Long Island: Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-NY) 5/22

NORPAC proudly welcomes back Representative Kathleen Rice (D-NY) to an event in Long Island hosted by Alex & Ilyse Sternberg on Sunday morning, May 22nd.

Kathleen was one of the first members of her party to openly oppose the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) with Iran. She is facing pressure from a Primary challenge due to her courageous stance on this deal. We need to show our support for her courage early and substantially.
She has also been a vocal proponent of aid to Israel. In a recent trip there, she stated that “Israel is our closest ally in the region, and every dollar we invest in Israel’s security is a direct investment in American homeland security.”

“No matter how partisan the atmosphere in Washington has been or may become, we have a responsibility to ensure that support for Israel always remains a bipartisan priority.”

“We made it clear to Prime Minister Netanyahu that we take that responsibility very seriously and we’re eager to continue working with him to enhance the security of both our countries and protect the people we serve.”

Please join us in support of Representative Rice and share your concerns about the US-Israel relationship with her at this pro-Israel event. Contact Avi Schranz at avi@norpac.net for more information.

During a conference with Jewish leaders last year, McCarthy affirmed his support for a strong US-Israeli relationship saying, “We would never allow in this country two-thirds of the population to go into a bomb shelter. NORPAC Englewood: Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) 3/13

On Sunday, March 13th, Raphael & Linda Benaroya welcome Senator John McCain to an event in Englewood.

Little introduction needs to be made about the current Chairman of the Armed Services Committee. John McCain is a national hero and, aside from the President, has the most widely received bully pulpit of any national leader.

In a 2008 interview, Senator McCain stated that “I’m a student of history and anybody who is familiar with the history of the Jewish people and with the Zionist idea can’t help but admire those who established the Jewish homeland. I think it’s remarkable that Zionism has been in the middle of wars and great trials and it has held fast to the ideals of democracy and social justice and human rights. I think that the State of Israel remains under significant threat from terrorist organizations as well as the continued advocacy of the Iranians to wipe Israel off the map.”

NORPAC Englewood: Rep. Todd Young (R-IN) 2/21

On Sunday, February 21st, Drew & Careena Parker and Scott & Abby Herschmann hosted an evening event for Congressman Todd Young in Englewood.

Todd has been a Representative in Indiana since 2011. During that time he has proven himself not only a capable legislator, but a strong friend of the US-Israel relationship. He supported the US-Israel Enhanced Security Cooperation Act bolstering our joint military exercises, and has opposed any unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state.

On the Iran deal, Young stated that, “As a former Marine Intelligence Officer, I know the threats our country faces. Among those threats is Iran, one of the leading sponsors of global terrorism… I oppose the final agreement, because for years, Iran remaining a nuclear-threshold state was a non-starter. We understood well the destabilizing effect this would have within the region and beyond.”
Rep. Young announced his bid for the Indiana U.S. Senate seat in July 2015. This event is for his Senatorial election.
